This site is part of the topic of health, under which is QUACKER, about the treatments derived from those lacking expertise in medical science—though a number talk as though they have such knowledge, and a very small number have a license to practice medicine in this country.

There are PROBLEMS with science based medicine, most of which result from the for-profit drug companies who own the research that justifies approval of their new expensive drugs. This misinformation is presented to a very supportive FDA review-board, that has been appointed by a President and Congress who have a conflict of interest because they receive millions of dollars from those very same drug companies.

There is also a collection of important health and medical information on a large variety of topics including hormone replacement for both MEN and WOMEN, on CANCER and many other HEALTH topics.

Carl Barks, the creator of Uncle Scrooge, was born on March 27^th, 1901. (Donald was born June 9^th, 1936). He worked for Disney from 1936 to 1942. During those years he had worked on 3-dozen Donald cartoons—almost the entire series. In 1942, when almost everyone at the studio stared working on war-related films, he quite and moved to a chicken farm near San Jacinto, east of Los Angles. A few months later, he was sent by a Disney staff member a 10-page script about Donald Duck and his nephews, which would be published in the monthly Walt Disney’s Comics & Stories. Thereafter he both wrote and illustrated for that comic book. He produced hundreds of 10-page stories between then and September 1966. For another 7 years he continued to write stories for other artists to illustrate. Barks third wife, Gare, a landscape painter, refined his skills in the oil medium. From 1971 to 1976 Barks was permitted by the studio to sell oil paintings of the ducks--122 were catalogued. For pages of script and drawing he never received more than $45.50 per page, but the last of his duck paintings in 1976 was auctioned for $6,400. By 1980 they commanded a price of up to $30,000.

Barks humor and art will live for centuries.
